BERLIN – Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 69 event drew an announced attendance of 8,155 fans in Berlin, the UFC’s second trip to Germany’s capital city in about a year.
UFC officials announced the figures at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended. No live gate number was announced.
UFC Fight Night 69 took place at O2 World Berlin. The entire event streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
The UFC’s previous visit to Berlin, UFC Fight Night 41 in May 2014, drew an announced attendance of 8,000 fans for a headliner between Gegard Mousasi and Mark Munoz. That was the promotion’s first visit to Berlin after previous Germany stops in Oberhausen for UFC 122 and Cologne for UFC 99.
In Saturday’s main event, women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk put her title on the line against Jessica Penne. Jedrzejczyk defended her title for the first time, scoring a third-round TKO. For complete coverage of UFC Fight Night 69, check out the UFC Events section of the site.
