BERLIN – Anyone who feels that a fighter needs to defend their belt before they can truly be called “champion” can rest easy now that UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk dominated Jessica Penne in the main event of UFC Fight Night 69. Jedrzejczyk (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) put a prolonged beating on Penne (12-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) that had many media members calling for a stoppage earlier than it came. Penne, as tough as anyone in the UFC, continued to try to make something happen while absorbing punishment until the referee jumped in and called a halt to the bout in the third round.
