UFC Fight Night 72 took place Saturday in Scotland, and in the FOX Sports 1-televised headliner, Michael Bisping (27-7 MMA, 17-7 UFC) outpointed Thales Leites (25-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) with strikes for a split-decision victory in Glasgow.
“The Count” has been with the UFC longer than most, and his resume reflects many accomplishments. His victory over Leites moved the Englishman up the all-time wins list, as well as several other notable categories.

Betting favorites went 10-2 on the card.

Bisping earned back-to-back UFC victories for the first time since 2011. He’d alternated wins and losses over his previous nine octagon appearances.

Leites suffered his first decision loss since Aug. 8, 2009 – a span of 2,170 days (nearly six years) and 13 fights. Four of the five defeats in the career of the Brazilian are by decision. Ross Pearson (17-9 MMA, 9-6 UFC) fell to 4-3 with one no-contest since he returned to the UFC lightweight division in December 2012.

Duffy earned just the third triangle choke finish in UFC competition this year. Ivan Jorge (26-55 MMA, 2-2 UFC) suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Ray (18-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned 14 of his 18 career victories by stoppage.
Ray has earned both of his UFC victories by knockout. Leonardo Mafra (12-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by stoppage.
Mafra has suffered two of his three career losses by knockout.

Preliminary card

Patrick Holohan (12-1-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) has earned two of his three UFC victories by decision. Vaughan Lee (14-11-1 MMA, 3-5 UFC) was unsuccessful in his UFC flyweight debut. He went 3-4 in the organization at bantamweight.
Lee suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his nearly four-year UFC career.
Lee suffered his first decision loss since Nov. 5, 2011 – a span of 1,351 days (nearly four years) and seven fights. Ilir Latifi (10-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has earned two of his three UFC victories by knockout. Hans Stringer (22-7-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered both his UFC losses by knockout. Teemu Packalen (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his seven-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career. Paul Redmond (10-6 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has suffered five of his six career losses by stoppage.
Redmond suffered his first knockout loss since March 24, 2012 – a span of 1,211 days (more than three years) and nine fights. Jimmie Rivera (17-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) extended his winning streak to 16 fights. He hasn’t suffered a defeat since November 2008.
Rivera has earned his past three victories by knockout after a stretch of eight consecutive decision wins. Marcus Brimage (7-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC) fell to 1-3 since he dropped to the UFC bantamweight division in July 2014.
Brimage had just one victory in his past five UFC appearances. He’s suffered three of the four losses in that stretch by knockout. Daniel Omielanczuk (17-5-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by knockout.
