Alex Pereira was quite impressed by the performance of Dustin Jacoby over the weekend to the extent that he thinks Jacoby should find himself in the top fifteen rankings now. Jacoby garnered a win over Julius Walker with a torrent of strikes in the second stanza of their UFC Vegas 113 bout on February 7th. This extended the winning streak of ‘The Hanyak’ to three straight, with Jacoby securing all finishes across this recent stretch.

Divisional kingpin ‘Poatan’ was clearly watching this fight closely as video footage showed Pereira not only viewing the Jacoby victory, but also indicating a strong level of being impressed by his former kickboxing opponent. The two competed at Glory 14 as part of a semi-final tournament clash, with Pereira halting Jacoby with his vaunted left hook during their 2014 clash.

By way of his personal social media @AlexPereiraUFC, with footage also posted to @RedCorner_MMA on X, Pereira said,

“Incredible work, Dustin Jacoby. Put some respect on his name and place him in the rankings! Nostalgia from the Glory days – would love to see him in the rankings to show the evolution that has occurred in a different sport! Chama [fire emoji]”

Alex Pereira and Shara Bullet may be on course for a unique showdown

Speaking of other combat sports endeavours, Alex Pereira and Shara Bullet may test skills against one another, per a representative of the latter. The combatant known as Sharabutdin Magomedov has partaken in grappling contests outside of his UFC related quests with many seeing Shara Bullet’s grappling clash with top UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsaruykan. Shara’s manager Rizvan Magomedov recently intimated that his charge was working toward arranging another grappling booking with Pereira reportedly in the crosshairs.

This Pereira vs. Magomedov grappling contest discourse came about from an interview conducted by Sport 24. Rizvan Magomedov mentioned that while the UFC was waiting for a Middle East-based event to book Shara Bullet on, he wanted to keep the surging mixed martial artist active.

Any kind of showdown with the UFC’s reigning light heavyweight champion, grappling or otherwise, is enough to generate big interest and ample buzz. It remains to be seen if this Shara Bullet-Alex Pereira clash will manifest into something beyond being a report in the coming days/ weeks.
