Valentina Shevchenko finished the Alexa Grasso trilogy with a win at UFC 306 this past Saturday in Las Vegas, and the Mexican star was disappointed with her performance after five rounds of combat.

Now 1-1-1 in title fights against “Bullet,” Grasso wrote her first words on social media after not attending the UFC 306 post-fight press conference at Sphere, promising to bounce back stronger after suffering her first defeat in just over four years.

“I want to thank everyone for your support,” Grasso wrote in Spanish (translated by MMA Fighting’s José Youngs). “It wasn’t the night I wanted. I’ll get back to training, and I promise the next fight will be much better. Love you so much.”

Grasso (16-4-1) stopped Shevchenko with a shocking rear-naked choke the first time they met back in March 2023, and they fought to a close split draw in a rematch later that year. The trilogy went down a year later, again on a card built around Mexican Independence Day — and after both coached a season of The Ultimate Fighter — and Shevchenko won five rounds in all three scorecards.

Shevchenko improved to 24-4-1 with the victory Saturday, her 10th win since cutting down to flyweight in 2018.
