Chris Bey, who remains hospitalized in Detroit following
neck surgery, issued a statement which TNA Wrestling posted
on its website and social media properties.

Bey was injured during the Sunday television tapings in a
match against The Hardys, just 24 hours after losing the TNA
Tag Team titles with his partner Ace Austin.

“I just want to take a few moments to extend my heartfelt
thanks and deepest appreciation for so much and to so many
over the past few days,” Bey wrote. “From everyone at TNA
Wrestling, to the incredible medical staff here in Detroit,
to family, friends and fans worldwide, I know you have been
praying for my full recovery from the in-ring accident this
past Sunday.”

Bey added that Monday was “day one” for him on this journey
which he knows will be long and challenging.

“Thanks again for the love and support, and please keep the
prayers coming,” he concluded.

It was never revealed what kind of injury Bey sustained,
except that it was neck related.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched with a target of $100,000
to help Bey. As of this writing, over $70,000 was raised,
with individuals like Adam Copeland, Scott D’Amore, Matt
Hardy, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Nick Nemeth, Will
Ospreay, Matt Cardona, Mercedes Mone, Jonathan Gresham and
Jordynne Grace, Raj Dhesi and others all submitting
significant sums.
