Jon Jones has a simple message for his UFC rival Alex Pereira: “be careful what you wish for.”

Pereira is the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion. He also previously held middleweight gold. Jones, on the other hand, is a former heavyweight and light heavyweight champ. Despite the fact that Jones retired after a 2024 victory over Stipe Miocic, he and Pereira have recently been linked to a massive fight at the upcoming UFC White House event. The event, slated for Jan. 14, is a celebration of Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and America’s 250th. It is expected to be one of the biggest in UFC history.

At this point, a Jones vs. Pereira fight is purely rumored. However, Pereira recently dropped a huge hint that the fight is in the works.

The light heavyweight champ recently visited the tire shop he used to work at in Brazil. He filmed some content there, and in one shot, fans quickly noticed the words “next Jones” written on one of the tires (see that here).

It did not take Jones long to catch win of Pereira’s message.

He didn’t refute what his fellow UFC legend said, but advised the Brazilian to be careful what he wishes for.

“I beat a lot of legends from your country, my friend,” Jones said in a video posted on his Instagram account. “I know you’d love to avenge the boys, but boy, would you be a good one to add to my list. Be careful what you wish for. Chama.”
