2024 delivered plenty of memorable fights, but five particular ones stood out for Michael Bisping.
Bisping got to call a lot of incredible moments in the octagon, but whether he was in the arena or at home, five fights left quite the impression on him this past year. The former UFC middleweight champion took to his YouTube channel to list his top five fights in 2024.

No. 5: Dricus Du Plessis def. Israel Adesanya at UFC 305
“Israel Adesanya had his moments, but Dricus Du Plessis walked him down, and he did look a little off-rhythm, a little clumsy – and people like to say that about Dricus Du Plessis. But this man is an incredible fighter. … Well done to Dricus Du Plessis. The man was able to do something to Israel Adesanya that no man has ever been able to do. And let’s be honest, everybody that has fought Israel Adesanya, that has always been the game plan – unless, of course, your name is Alex Pereira.”
No. 4: Cub Swanson def. Billy Quarantillo at UFC Tampa
“He certainly got off to a fantastic start. He looked like Cub Swanson in his prime in his younger years. He was quick, he was slick, his hands were low, he was picking him apart, and he was almost landing at will. It looked like he was destined for a quick, easy night at the office. However, Billy Q is not a man to underestimate, and in the second round, he started finding the rhythm, finding the range and finding the chin, and it didn’t matter what he was landing.
“… That’s what you want to see in a great fight. You want to see back-and-forth action. One guy that goes out and completely dominates a person, that doesn’t make a great fight. That makes a great performance, but a great fight has to have back-and-forth action, and that is exactly what we saw. The (fans) in Tampa were losing their minds.”
No. 3: Alex Pereira def. Khalil Rountree at UFC 307
“We love to see the great displays of mixed martial arts action. We love to see the knockouts like(Pereira) landed on Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka. They were fantastic. But to be the hammer and the nail, to lose a couple of rounds, to still stay composed, and then come back, get revenge and a knockout in the fourth round, that is the stuff of movies.”
No. 2: Dustin Poirier def. Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 299
“Tremendous pressure from Benoit Saint Denis and an incredible display of heart and will from Dustin Poirier. Some of the shots that he ate, some of those knees flush to the mush, they would’ve finished lesser opponents, but Dustin Poirier stayed in the fight. (He) continued to jump the (guillotine choke), didn’t get it, but he did see the second round. … Benoit was getting a little reckless, left an opening, and boom – one left hook from Dustin Poirier sits him down.
“Benoit jumps straight back up, but Dustin Poirier smelt the blood, went for the finish, and unloaded with a beautiful barrage, and one big right hook sat him down for good. I was on the edge of my seat. It was some of the most entertaining two rounds of MMA action you are likely to find. Dustin Poirier, once again unbelievable what this man has done in his career.
“That fight right there should be in the Hall of Fame one day.”
No. 1: Max Holloway def. Justin Gaethje at UFC 300
“They stood there, they both threw down, they both traded, they both gave us everything that we want to see in mixed martial arts, and of course, it ended with Max Holloway successful and Justin Gaethje unconscious face down on the canvas, which is something that we never thought we’d see happen.”
