Paul vs. Tyson weigh-in results: Mike Tyson, Jake Paul come in nearly identical in weight

Mike Tyson cannot wait to fight Jake Paul.

At the weigh-ins for Friday’s highly anticipated boxing match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Paul and Tyson both successfully made weight, with Paul coming in at 227.2 pounds for their heavyweight matchup, while Tyson came in at 228.4 pounds. This is the first time Paul has competed at heavyweight, previously competing mostly at cruiserweight.

But the biggest thing about the weigh-ins wasn’t the scale, but the face off afterward as when Paul went to get in Tyson’s face, the former heavyweight champion hauled off and slapped him, leading to security intervening before things could escalate.

Friday’s main event is Tyson’s first professional fight in almost 20 years, though the former heavyweight champion had an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

For Paul, this is his third fight this year, as “The Problem Child” knocked out Ryan Bourland in March, then stopped Mike Perry in July.

In the co-main event, both women’s lightweight champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano weighed in at 137.4 pounds for their title fight rematch.

13 of the 14 fighters successfully made weight on Thursday, with the exception being Armando Casamonica who came in at 138.6 pounds, three pounds over the 135 pound weight limit. The bout is expected to proceed as scheduled.
