UFC 303 post-event facts: Ian Machado Garry joins exclusive club with 8-0 octagon start

The UFC’s 12th annual International Fight Week festivities are now in the books after UFC 303 took place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The lone championship bout on the night ended in spectacular fashion when Alex Pereira (11-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) brutally finished Jiri Prochazka (30-5-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) with strikes in the second round for his second consecutive title defense, marking the last of five stoppages on the card.

Event stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $311,500.

Pereira, Macy Chiasson, Joe Pyfer, Andre Fili, Cub Swanson and Payton Talbott earned $50,000 UFC 303 fight-night bonuses.

Debuting fighters went 1-0 on the card.

UFC 303 drew an announced attendance of 18,881 for a live gate of $15,909,243.

Betting favorites went 11-2 on the card.

Betting favorites improved to 16-6 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 13-bout card was 2:21:17.

Pereira improved to 4-0 since he moved up to the light heavyweight division in July 2023.

Pereira has earned nine of his 11 career victories by stoppage. He’s finished all of those wins by stoppage.

Prochazka has suffered all five of his career losses by stoppage.

Dan Ige (18-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) has suffered all eight of his career losses by decision.

Roman Dolidze def. Anthony Smith

Roman Dolidze (13-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) was successful in his return to the light heavyweight division. He’s 3-0 under the UFC banner in the weight class.

Anthony Smith (38-20 MMA, 13-10 UFC) fell to 9-7 since he moved up to the UFC light-heavyweight division in June 2018.

Smith fell to 13-9 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in February 2016.

Chiasson (10-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) has earned six of her 10 career victories by stoppage. That includes five of her eight UFC wins.

Mayra Bueno Silva (10-4-1 MMA, 5-4-1 UFC) suffered the first stoppage loss of her career with a doctor’s stoppage TKO defeat.

Ian Machado Garry (15-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) became the second welterweight in UFC history to start 8-0 with the promotion. Kamaru Usman also accomplished the feat.

Garry’s eight-fight UFC winning streak at welterweight is the longest active streak in the division.

Michael Page (22-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has suffered two of his three career losses by decision.

Fili (24-11 MMA, 12-10 UFC) has earned eight of his 12 UFC victories by decision.

Fili has earned 12 victories in UFC featherweight competition, the fourth-most in divisional history behind Max Holloway (20), Darren Elkins (17) and Cub Swanson (14).

Swanson’s (29-13 MMA, 14-9 UFC) 14 fight-night bonuses for UFC/WEC featherweight bouts are the most in combined divisional history.

Swanson’s 10 fight-night bonuses for UFC featherweight bouts are tied with Holloway for most in divisional history.

Waterson-Gomez’s five-fight losing skid is the longest of her career. She hasn’t earned a victory since September 2020.

Waterson-Gomez fell to 1-7 in her past eight fights dating back to October 2019.

Andrei Arlovski (34-24 MMA, 23-18 UFC) fell to 13-14 (with one no contest) since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in June 2014.

Arlovski’s total fight time of 6:49:58 in UFC heavyweight competition is the most in divisional history.

Arlovski’s 18 losses in UFC competition are tied with Jeremy Stephens and Clay Guida for most in company history.

Vinicius Oliveira def. Ricky Simon

Ricky Simon’s (20-6 MMA, 8-5 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since July 2022.

Simon has landed 43 takedowns in UFC bantamweight competition, the second most in divisional history behind Merab Dvalishvili (66).
