There’s no doubt that Umar Nurmagomedov fought through a broken hand during his five-round decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 and now it might force him to take an extended break from action.

On Tuesday, the California State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions handed down from UFC 311 to MMA Fighting with several athletes potentially facing lengthy layoffs.

Nurmagomedov topped the list with a mandatory seven day suspension along with a potential 180 day layoff due to a possible fracture of on his left hand. The Dagestan native showed off the gruesome injury in photos posted to social media that revealed the damage done from his fight against Dvalishvili with Nurmagomedov previously stating that he believed the broken hand happened in the opening round.

He can avoid the 180-day suspension with clearance from a physician.

Meanwhile, Jailton Almeida also faces a potential six-month layoff after he was handed a mandatory seven-day suspension along with a 180-day layoff unless cleared by a physician for a possible fracture in his left foot. Despite the injury, Almeida put on a dominant performance with a first-round finish over Serghei Spivac.

Spivac also faces a potentially long layoff with a 180-day suspension possible after he may have fractured his right foot and possibly broke his jaw as well.
