During Saturday’s UFC 312 broadcast, it was officially announced that Moreno (22-8-2) is set to face Steve Erceg (12-3) in the March 29 main event of UFC Mexico City, which takes place at Arena CDMX. The matchup was first reported by KrazyKevMMA.

Moreno is currently No. 4 at 125 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Erceg sits at No. 12.

A two-time UFC flyweight champion, Moreno recently stopped a two-fight slide with a unanimous decision win over Amir Albazi this past November. Moreno fell short in his attempt to become a three-time champion when he lost a close split decision to longtime rival Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 in July 2023 and then dropped another split call to Brandon Royval the following February.

Erceg has also fallen short by decision at the hands of Pantoja and looks to work his way back to contention. Following a 3-0 start to his UFC career, Erceg has now lost two straight with the loss to Pantoja and then a first-round TKO loss to Kai Kara-France this past August.
