Adesanya vs. Imavov took place Feb. 1 at the anb Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Israel Adesanya (24-5) and Nassourdine Imavov (16-4, 1 no-contest) squared off in the the middleweight clash. The fight aired live on pay-per-view on ESPN+.

Round 1

Adesanya hammering leg kicks early and finding success. Imavov lands a short left hook, Adesanya feigning and landing a jab. Imavov shoots, Adesanya defends, Imavov tries another takedown, not successful.

Adesanya just misses a huge left hand, lands a counter left jab, and another jab behind it. Imavov looks a little confused in there by the movement of Adesanya, but lands a nice left hand. Adesanya clinches up, nearly tripped Imavov, but they remain standing.

Big right uppercut finds the mark from Imavov, best shot of the fight thus far. Imavov shoots a double leg, Adesanya staying very calm and upright to avoid the takedown. Adesanya gets separation and lands a sharp left hook, and a question mark kick. Final 10 seconds, Adesanya lands a thudding body kick to end the round.

Hard jab and leg kick from Adesanya. Hard leg kick from the former champ, but Imavov pokes him in the eye. Adesanya chooses not to take the time, and Imavov absolutely mashes him with a big shot that drops Adesanya. Imavov pours it on, and that’s it. Holy moly!!!
