Nominees

Nominee: Ketlen Souza def. Yazmin Jauregui at UFC 306

Ketlen Souza (15-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) clubbed and subbed her way to an upset victory over Yazmin Jauregui (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in their strawweight matchup.

Souza, who came in as a sizeable underdog, dropped Yazmin Jauregui with a thunderous left hook and jumped on a rear-naked choke to put the Mexican to sleep just over three minutes into the fight.

Nominee: Danylo Voievodkin def. Bailey Schoenfelder at Dana White's Contender Series 73

Massive +526 underdog Danylo Voievodkin chose not to conform to expectations with a huge heavyweight upset over Bailey Schoenfelder (5-1).

Voievodkin landed a right-left combination that dropped Schoenfelder to the canvas. He then scrambled to the ground and grabbed hold of Schoenfelder’s neck with a rear-naked choke. A brief squeeze later, the tap emerged.

Nominee: Chris Duncan def. Bolaji Oki at UFC Fight Night 243

Chris Duncan (12-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) had to inform the referee that Bolaji Oki (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was out cold in their lightweight contest.

Duncan submitted Oki with a guillotine choke in the first round. As soon as Oki tried to take Duncan down, “The Problem” latched onto his neck. After cinching in a deep choke, Duncan let go to throw some punches, only to realize that Oki was out cold on top of him.

Nominee: Stevie Ray def. Lewis Long via twister at 2024 PFL Europe 3

In front of a hometown crowd in Glasgow, beloved Scottish fighter Stevie Ray (26-13) won in spectacular fashion against Lewis Long (20-8).

Ray he pulled off a modified version of the twister, dubbed by the commentary team as the “Scottish Twister,” against a befuddled Long in the opening round of the 150-pound catchweight bout.

The winner

The winner: Cody Durden def. Matt Schnell at UFC Fight Night 242

Cody Durden (17-6-1 MMA, 6-4-1 UFC) picked up one of the biggest wins of his octagon tenure when he tapped out Matt Schnell (16-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) in highlight-reel fashion.

After taking the fight as a replacement on just four days’ notice, Durden went toe-to-toe with Schnell from the very first bell. In the second, Durden turned the tables on a Schnell takedown attempt and impressively rolled into a slick anaconda choke. After a brief struggle, Schnell tapped to end the bantamweight bout.
