This is the UFC 307 live blog for Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr., the main event light heavyweight title fight this Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Pereira, an accomplished kickboxer before making the jump over to MMA, has already built a Hall of Fame-worthy career in just a few years in the UFC. One of just nine two-division champions in promotional history, Pereira has become one of the sport’s biggest stars with his incredible knockouts and his penchant for stepping in to save the day on short notice. A win over Rountree will further build “Poatan” as a living legend and perhaps cement his claim to another Fighter of the Year award.

One of the light heavyweight division’s most devastating strikers, Rountree is the definition of a dark horse contender as the knockout artist earned this title shot despite only being ranked No. 8 in the UFC rankings, and coming off a six-month suspension for a failed drug test. Nevertheless, Rountree got the call to step in against Pereira and now has the opportunity to cement his “Glory Killer” status and claim an unexpected UFC title.
