Payton Talbott has a unique callout after UFC 311.
Highly touted Talbott (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) meets Raoni Barcelos (18-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) in a bantamweight bout Jan. 18 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.
Talbott is eyeing a showdown with former kickboxer Andrew Tate, who has amassed a following of young males who have supported his misogynist manner and advocating for toxic masculinity. The 26-year-old Talbott is not a fan of Tate.
“Yeah, let’s get that going,” Talbott said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” “I’d take that. I’d take that. Yeah, it’s just a free-for-all. He’s just the antithesis of me. It seems like someone just cheated on him when he was younger and now he has this vendetta against women. I feel like he takes himself super seriously, and it’s just like, he’s kind of a poison for masculine culture.”
In just three UFC fights, Dana White’s Contender Series alum Talbott has rose to popularity. He is coming off back-to-back Performance of the Night knockouts of Cameron Saaiman, and most recently Yanis Ghemmouri in just 19 seconds at UFC 303 in June.
