UFC 313 has lost a Brazil vs. Brazil heavyweight clash due to injury.

Vitor Petrino, who was moving up from light heavyweight to face Jhonata Diniz on March 8 in Las Vegas, suffered a lateral epicondylitis in both elbows and will be forced to avoid training for at least three weeks.

It’s still unclear if Diniz will get a new opponent for the pay-per-view event. MMA Fighting confirmed the news following a report by Ag. Fight.

Petrino (11-2) was looking to get back on track after losing twice at light heavyweight, with stoppage losses to Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby. Those setbacks were the first for Petrino following an 11-0 career start with four straight wins inside the organization.

Diniz (8-1) was scheduled to face Derrick Lewis in early November, but instead fought Marcin Tybura later that month, going on to suffer his first MMA defeat via doctor stoppage. Diniz was 2-0 in the UFC prior to that, defeating Austen Lane and Karl Williams.

The UFC announced Saturday that Alex Pereira headlines UFC 313 in a light heavyweight title defense against Magomed Ankalaev, while Justin Gaethje faces Dan Hooker in a five-round lightweight co-main event.
