Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley are ready to headline the UFC’s last event of the year.
The welterweight contenders both successfully made weight for Saturday’s UFC Tampa main event, with Buckley weighing in at 171 pounds near the start of Friday’s official weigh-in window, and Covington later hitting the same mark.
Buckley is 5-0 since dropping down to the welterweight division and currently sits at No. 10 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Covington is currently unranked, but is coming off of a title fight loss to Leon Edwards in December 2023, his third failed shot at UFC gold.
Co-main event featherweights Cub Swanson and Billy Quarantillo also successfully made weight, both registering at 146 pounds, as did flyweight contenders Manel Kape and Bruno “Bulldog” Silva.
Kape, Joel Alvarez, and Ramon Taveras were the final fighters to weigh in, which is notable given their previous struggles with the scale. However, all three successfully made weight and are currently on track to compete Saturday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
