Quillan Salkilld definitely knows how to make a first impression.
In his octagon debut at home in Australia, Salkilld needed just a single right hand to find a home on Anshul Jubli’s head to put him down and out in the opening bout on the preliminary card at UFC 312. The piston-like shot connected and Jubli crashed to the canvas with the referee immediately rushing in to stop the contest with the end coming at just 19 seconds into the first round.

“I have no words for it,” Salkilld said about his performance. “The perfect ending for my debut in Sydney. I knew he leads with his lead hand, his lead hand is always away from his face. Dream come true. The only thing that would make it better is an extra $50,000 in the bank.”
The fight went so quickly the broadcast actually showed it twice with both fighters pawing at each other early until Salkilled went low with jab to the body and then back up top with the right hook that slammed against Jubli’s ear.
Once Jubli fell in a heap to the ground, the referee immediately ended the contest although the 30-year-old fighter from India did grab onto a leg and protest the stoppage. Replays showed that perhaps the referee pulled the trigger a little quick but then again Jubli did fall down in a rather violent manner after he got hit with the punch.
Either way, the fight was stopped and Salkilld was able to celebrate with the raucous audience in Sydney and now he has his UFC win under his belt.
