No prep? No problem for Azamat Bekoev.
The octagon newcomer impressed in his promotional debut at UFC 311, needing less than a round to put Zachary Reese (8-2) on his back and knock him out with brutal ground-and-pound.

Bekoev fearlessly worked from inside Reese’s guard, shrugging off the American’s armbar attempts from bottom and firing punches with dangerous intent. It was a looping overhand right from top position that stunned Reese, leaving him open for more heavy ground-and-pound. By the time referee Blake Grice stepped in for the stoppage, Reese was laid out limp on the canvas.
The official time of the knockout was 3:04 into Round 1.
It was a long-awaited opportunity for Bekoev, an LFA middleweight champion that improved to 19-3 with the win. He accepted his UFC 311 fight on less than a week’s notice as a replacement for Sedriques Dumas, who withdrew from the bout for undisclosed reasons.
